Meet Susannah!
As Supply Chain Manager for Red Tomato, it is my job to ensure that the high-quality produce our network of growers cultivate have the trusted markets they need, at a dignified price, season after season. I try to do that by building lasting relationships – with the farmers, with the customers, our trucking partners, and everyone in-between. It is not just about buying and selling produce – it’s about sustaining future generations of farmers and eaters alike.
Why Red Tomato?
My background is in traditional wholesale distribution, specifically natural and organic foods. I was introduced to the Red Tomato brand in the marketplace through that industry, and became intrigued by the non-profit status and unique operational environment. How does an organization that specializes in regional wholesale produce – but has no trucks or warehouse – actually do it? I told myself that one day, I would find out. And I’m so glad I did!
Tell us more!
We have two dogs at home (a beagle and a rescue mix) that love wearing matching pajamas! I also enjoy building up our home garden, cooking, and running. One day, we hope to have enough land for 20 rescue dogs and a homestead garden.
