Apple Glazed Easter Ham with Roasted Apples

This apple glazed Easter ham with roasted apples is everything a holiday main dish should be: easy, beautiful, and full of comforting flavor. The combination of sweet glaze and tender roasted apples makes it feel extra special, while still being simple enough for any home cook.

Ingredients
  

For the ham:

  • 1 fully cooked bone-in ham (8–12 lbs)
  • ½ cup water

For the apple glaze:

  • 1 cup apple juice or apple cider
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves (optional)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2-3 apples – peeled, cored, and sliced (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Granny Smith work great)

Instructions
 

Prep the ham

  • Preheat oven to 325°F.
  • Place ham cut-side down in a roasting pan.
  • Add ½ cup water and cover loosely with foil.
  • Bake 10–15 minutes per pound. (Example: 10 lb ham = 2–2½ hours)

Make the apple glaze

  • In a saucepan, combine apple cider, brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, cinnamon, cloves, and vinegar.
  • Simmer for 10–15 minutes until slightly thickened, then stir in butter.

Add apples and glaze

  • About 60–75 minutes before the ham is done, arrange sliced apples around the ham. Spoon some glaze over the apples.
  • Remove the foil 30–40 minutes before finishing, then brush the ham generously with glaze.
  • Continue baking uncovered, basting every 10–15 minutes.
  • Heat until ham reaches 140°F internal temp, apples should be soft and lightly caramelized.
  • Let rest 10–15 minutes before slicing.
